We’re incredibly pleased to premiere Angela McCluskey’s brand new song “You & Me”. This NYC-based, Scottish artist has been cutting her teeth as a vocalist on some amazing electronic music tracks, but you may not be up on her solo work. She co-wrote the Grammy-nominated track “Breathe” with Télépopmusik. That song takes me to a place far far away from this office. I’m drifting away as we speak. She’s also laid down vocals for Big Gigantic and Morgan Page, two big players in the world of EDM.
The track comes from her forthcoming album The Roxy Sessions, available everywhere on September 9. I sense shades of Amy Winehouse, Duffy, and Melody Gardot. These are all good things.
Of the track, McCluskey said, “The single was written In Paris where I lived off and on during my Télépopmusik days. I lived in a historical building that conjured up all sorts of post revolutionary love trysts. I imagined the girl urging the guy to be brave and put up a fight. The chorus is from an old French poem ‘La Vie Est Breve’. Life is short and the words are all about really living life to the full.”
