2017, what a time to be alive! It’s kind of a little bit like that feeling you get when you’re in a creepy, isolated house with lots of glass windows at nighttime // you don’t want to look outside because it’s terrifying, but also, you should probably do it anyway just in case there is a psychopathic murderer standing in the woods. A REAL SOPHIE’S CHOICE, Y’KNOW?! It’s enough to drive any decent human being mad, so we’ve decided to ask friends and other cool people to give their two cents on how to remedy the insanity with self-care, whether it’s through YouTube videos, pictures of puppies, pizza…WHATEVER! 

Today’s sanity advice comes from Alyse Vellturo (aka pronoun), whose tunes you should 110% be listening to if you’re not already! Start with brand new track “it’s the way” (below) // in addition to sounding great, the proceeds from that one go entirely to Planned Parenthood, so be sure to download it on iTunes! Watching everyone come together on Saturday really helped me feel safe as both a woman and a member of the LGBT community. There is such power in numbers. Whenever I’m feeling down I will be going to the photo/video footage from all over the entire world, millions of people marching for so many reasons/causes. As emotionally draining/saddening as all of this has been, it’s helped me personally to let myself feel sad when I need to, don’t fight it. Mourn and then fight back.
