  • The Kimpton Hotel in Alexandria has a new restaurant, Ashlar, and if the colonial-esque drinks aren’t enough to make you a fan, the food will.


  • Mt. Vernon Triangle’s palate just got a little more diverse with the new Ottoman Taverna with traditional Turkish fare.

  • April 5th – May 26th: Make sure to visit Trummer’s on Main’s Jailbird chicken pop-up and eat some very hot, and very delicious, chicken.
  • April 28th – May 22nd: Shawdowlawn, a pop-up in Lovettsville, Virginia is taking the restaurant to the farm (via Post).
  • April 29 Get drunk and look at some sweet art at Art on The Rocks at The Art League in VA. Bars include Chadwicks, DRP Belle Haven, Hank’s Pasta Bar, the Light Horse, RedRocks, and Virtue Feed & Grain.
  • April 29 – May 1 – The Georgetown French Market is coming back this spring. The market features boutiques, antique stores, restaurants, galleries, and salons that are going to be displaying discounted items. The market is located in the Book Hill neighborhood on Wisconsin Avenue between P Street and Reservoir Road.
  • April 30th: Celebrate the warmer weather at Beerfest in Leesburg, Virginia and see what brew is for you.
  • May 6th – May 8th: The Pig will be offering a number of  Kentucky Bourbon flights in honor of the Kentucky Derby.
  • May 7th: Vinofest is back at Yards Park where you can hear live performances, eat delicious foods, and indulge in some quality wine.
  • May 7th: Mint Julep’s aren’t the only thing on the menu at Logan’s Tavern’s Kentucky Derby Menu.
  • May 8th: Treat mom to a delicious brunch at Pennsylvania 6 this Mother’s Day where you can also commemorate the event with the in-house photographer.
  • May 8th: If dinner is something your mother prefers, celebrate her day with Co Co Sala’s Mother’s Day dinner special.
  • May 15 – From 3p.m. – 6 p.m. Union Market is hosting the 2016 Lamb Jam. While local food media people are judging the lamb dishes of 18 DC based chefs, guests can enjoy samples of the delicious food. If you really, really love lamb you can get a VIP ticket too.

  • CaliBurger, an In-N-Out style burger chain, is looking to begin operations in DC (via WBJ).
  • Pinea will now allow patrons to bocce next door to the Obama’s with a new addition to their outdoor patio (via Eater).
  • The Habit cafe has closed (via Eater).
  • Anthony Bourdain will be taking a break from his international travels to do domestic tour to promote his new cookbook. He’ll be stopping at DAR Constitution Hall on October 27th (via Eater).
  • There are still several DC pop-ups that you should try out before they end (via Eater).
  • A poutine food truck has begun roaming the streets of DC (via Post).
  • Politics & Prose has recently unveiled its newly updated coffee shop, The Den Coffee & Wine Bar (via WTOP).
  • Everyone’s favorite coffee shop, Starbucks, will now be serving alcohol at a few of its DC locations (via Blaze).
  • Plato’s Diner, a popular eatery in College Park, is now closed due to a recent fire (via NBC).
