  • April 15 – 16Justice of the Pies is a Chicago-based bakery (duh, pies) and it’s hosting a pop up at Brookland’s Finest. The name of this place isn’t just a clever play on words, they work with people in need of second chances and who have faced obstacles in finding employment.
  • April 17Cochon555’s Culinary Competition is coming back to DC and taking place at the Loews Madison.

  • April 20 -Jack Rose Dining Saloon and the James Beard award-winning chef Sean Brock (and team) are hosting the second annual “Night of Southern Hospitality” Charity Feats.
  • April 22 – 23 – Teddy & The Bully Bear Passover Celebrations will feature dishes like gefilte dish pave and Shiraz braised brisket (via Eater).
  • April 23The Park Hyatt is hosting its Spring 2016 Masters of Food & Wine event. The good news is that you don’t have to be a master of food or wine, just of eating and drinking it.
  • April 26 – Black’s Bar & Kitchen and Republic Restaurant are hosting Whisky Hour with Catoctin Creek Distilling Company. Get your tickets here.
  • April 29 – May 1 – The Georgetown French Market is coming back this spring. The market features boutiques, antique stores, restaurants, galleries, and salons that are going to be displaying discounted items. The market is located in the Book Hill neighborhood on Wisconsin Avenue between P Street and Reservoir Road.
  • May 15 – From 3p.m. – 6 p.m. Union Market is hosting the 2016 Lamb Jam. While local food media people are judging the lamb dishes of 18 DC based chefs, guests can enjoy samples of the delicious food. If you really, really love lamb you can get a VIP ticket too.

  • Open Road is opening a second D.C. location at Navy Yard. It’s a motorcycle themed restaurant so wear your best leather jacket (via Eater).
  • If your daydreams involve you on the beach in Hawaii then check out Dogwood Tavern’s new tiki drink menu (via Facebook).
  • The people behind the (now closed) Arlington restaurant Willow have moved on to Watergate where they’re running Campono (via Post).
  • There’s a new Irish Pub in Rockville. Finnegan’s Wake is located at Rockville Town Square (via Finnegan’s).
  • Tropical Smoothie Cafe just opened in Vienna. They serve (you guessed it) smoothies (via Facebook).
  • French brasserie Duck Duck Goose is coming to Bethesda. The restaurant is located at the old Monte Carlo (via Eater).
  • Tell your west coast friends that D.C. is getting Jinya Ramen (via Eater).
  • The Laurel location of Silver Diner has closed after 25 years of business (via WBJ).
  • There’s no more need to run to the ATM before going to The Pug (via Washington Post).
  • Georgetown’s Peacock Room is closed for real this time (via Georgetown Metropolitan).

  • Feast your eyes on lots of pies. Livin’ the Pie Life is set to open in Arlington (via ARL Now).
