  • February 26 – New fast-casual Korean comfort food restaurant Seoulspice opens at 145 N Street NE.
  • February 27Casa Luca’s Chef Erin is leading a cooking class on how to cook Pollo in Potacchio. The class is from 3 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Tickets are $85.
  • February 28 – 2941 Restaurant in Falls Church is hosting an 8 Course Spice Dinner with the help of NYC ‘Spice Master’ Lior Lev Sercarz. I don’t know what it takes to become a spice master but I’m sure he’s going to make some pretty good food. The dinner is priced at $95 per person.
  • February 29Casa Luca is hosting a dinner with the Prosecco label Cara C. To accompany the prosecco Chef Erin has created four special courses to compliment all of the bubbly.
  • February 29Bar Civita wants you to celebrate Leap Year with wines from Stags Leap Winery, Frogs Leap and Stags Leap Cellars. It’s from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. with tickets at $45 per person.
  • February 29Jack Rose Dining Saloon is celebrating Leap Day with an Allagash Leap Day Bash from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. Beer Director Nahem Simon is rolling out his collection of special vintage beers for the occasion.
  • March 1 – The Tullamore D.E.W. Brand Ambassador Tim Herlihy is stopping in DC as part of his one month Irish True Pub Tour. He’ll be at the Dubliner DC Irish Pub on the 1st where he’ll be enjoying a full Irish breakfast while debuting the new Tullamore D.E.W. Trilogy 15 Year Old Irish Whiskey.
  • March 1, 8 – ANXO, DC’s first cider and pintxos bar, is opening later than expected sometime between April or May. But to make up for the delayed opening their beverage director Tim Pendergast is leading a series of Cider Classes at Sally’s Middle Name. Tickets are $25.
  • March 2 – Whisky Advocate is hosting (wait for it) WhiskyFest at the Marriott Marquis (via Eater).
  • March 7Kapnos Kouzina is opening its Bethesda location. They’re accepting lunch reservations starting on the 7th and dinner beginning on March 11th.
  • March 9 – In celebration of Chef Deuki Hong and writer Matt Rodbard’s new cookbook, Koreatown: A CookbookErik Bruner-Yang and James Wozniuk are hosting a release party at Maketto. Tickets are $75 and include all you can eat food and drink.
  • March 12 – Come one come all to Pinstripes for their Brewers Bocce Tournament. It’s for charity! (via PoPville)
  • March 14 – In celebration of Pi Day &pizza is transforming its Columbia Heights location into a Vegas wedding chapel. Yes, this is real. For the couples who are already married there’s the option of renewing your vows.
  • March 15 – The second part of Ankara’s Crossroads Dinner Series will be focusing on Tokat and the North/Central Anatolian regions of Turkey. The four course menu goes for $65 per person and features Ankara’s famous Tokat Bebob.
  • April 6 – The third and last part of the Crossroads Dinner Series will be transforming Ankara into a traditional Turkish Meyhane. There will be music as well as food and wine with tickets going for $80.
  • April 17Cochon555’s Culinary Competition is coming back to DC and taking place at the Loews Madison.

  • April 29 – May 1 – The Georgetown French Market is coming back this spring. The market features boutiques, antique stores, restaurants, galleries, and salons that are going to be displaying discounted items. The market is located in the Book Hill neighborhood on Wisconsin Avenue between P Street and Reservoir Road.

Other Food News:

  • Zannchi, a new Korean restaurant, is coming to Georgetown this March. The casual eatery’s menu will feature small plates and hot stone rice bowls.
  • 14th Street Italian restaurant Posto has closed (via City Paper).
  • Casa Luca is launching its “On the Go” menu to pick up or get delivered in addition to their already existent catering menu.
  • Sea Pearl in Falls Church, VA is launching a new brunch buffet that will be available every Sunday from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
  • Bar Dupont is starting a new happy hour tradition. Their Bulleit Bourbon Happy Hour is going to run from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. every day of the week.
  • Vinoteca just launched a new Sunday night series called Tintos y Guitarras where the dining room is basically transformed into a stage where they’ll be live flamenco dancing and musical performances from 7 p.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Doi Moi in Logan Circle has a new happy hour and that means $4 wines, $6 basil tea punch, and $2-$8 snacks. The specials will be offered from 5 p.m. – 6 p.m. Tuesday – Saturday and all night on Sundays and Mondays (via Eater).
  • Roy Rogers just opened in Silver Spring’s Aspen Hill.
  • Sweet Green is expanding. The chain is opening a new location in Old Town Alexandria. [Hail] Caesar! (via Eater)
  • Union Jack’s old Bethesda storefront is being replaced with a new bar called Tapp’d Bethesda (via Robert Dyer).
  • The Outer Banks based chain Duck Donuts is coming to Rockville, MD (via Eater).
  • Northeast brewpub Bardo is coming to Shaw. We’re not quite sure about the details but it’s going to be opening sometime next year (via Borderstan).
  • Deschutes Brewery is going to be participating in the Taste of Arlington festival this May (via Eater).
  • Tono Sushi is changing things up. Get $12 ramen any time, any day (via PoPville).
  • Florida Ave is getting a new taco restaurant. Far East Taco Grille is replacing Chinito Burritos (via PoPville).
  • Love it or hate it, Buredo is opening a second location in the Dupont Circle neighborhood (via PoPville).
  • Asian and Latin fusion restaurant Sakerum is opening on 14th and U Street this spring. It’s part sushi bar, part Asian-Latian restaurant, part cocktail lounge.
  • VICELAND just posted a preview of its new show “F*ck, That’s Delicious” with Action Bronson and Rose’s Luxury Kitchen is featured.
