If there’s one thing we can’t get enough of at BYT, it’s pop culture–though if there’s another, it’s books (OK, and blood and sex and weird shit like vampires).

And so when Writers on the Rowa four-day book fest celebrating food, fashion and events–came knocking at our door with the official True Blood cookbook, we  jumped at the chance to cover anything from one of the most popular matches of written word and pop culture. Not only is the cookbook packed with a ton of southern, Bon Temps-inspired fare (and some killer cocktails); it’s full of gorgeous on-set photos and anecdotes from the perspectives of the show’s best characters.

True Blood fans are in for a real treat tonight, with an entire evening dedicated to the show. Karen Sommer Shalett, co-author of True Blood: Eats, Drinks, and Bites from Bon Temps and editor in chief of DC Magazine, will be at Bethesda Lane signing books and answering questions from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. There will also be a True Blood recipe cooking demonstration with chefs from Vapiano (YUM) and all-red Le Creuset cookware (AWESOME). If you’re craving some blood-red lips, stop by the bluemercury Lipstick Bar where they’ll be doing touch-ups. (EVERYTHING’S COMING UP TRUE BLOOD.)
