Video of the Day: Endtimes Robots Play “Blitzkrieg Bop”

It seems every day we’re approaching The Singularity at an increasingly breakneck speed, escalating terror with every sunrise/new invention/let’s-see-how-far-we-can-push-things-until-oops-the-robots-have-turned-on-us experiment. And while I’m all for creating artificial intelligence that can authentically play sweet punk music (well, as authentically as an as-of-yet unfeeling creature can play music, that is to say without emotion), it scares the shit out of me. Alas, science marches on.

Compressorhead is a three-piece metal (ugh, robot joke) band that actually sounds pretty cool, albeit the last line in their bio–“Standaside meatbags. Oil is thicket than blood.”–is pretty damn horrifying. Think about it while they play the hell out of “Blitzkrieg Bop” and remember that every hit/shred/kick of their playing is probably only 1/10 of the strength they’d use to crush your skull.
