Yes, it’s Flag Day. The greatest, most inconsequential, non-federally recognized holiday that I still really care about. Why? One, it’s my brother’s birthday (gotta make that phone call). Two, it’s a day that commemorates the most immaculate symbol of our collective struggle for opportunity and equality. Is patriotism cheesy? Maybe when you phrase it like I just did. But here’s a video that offers a lighthearted reason to remember why America rules. Today, remember the people who fought to make this a country where we can get drunk and fondly remember those people. Then, make sure you do that drinking at our patriotic jamboree, WE THE PARTY PEOPLE, at the National Museum of American History. It’ll be awesome. You’ll see amazing flags like these and so many other symbols of our nation’s unique history. See you there, compatriots!
