Now is the literal winter of our incredible D.C. theatre season–we’ve seen singing elves, stunning ballets, dramatic original works and, come January 28, we’ll see Folger Theatre’s new production of Shakespeare’s Richard III. As if staging one of Shakespeare’s longest, bloodiest tragedies wasn’t daunting enough, Folger just released a time-lapse video of their construction; they’re reconfiguring the entire theatre for an in-the-round production with no seat further than three feet away from the actors.
