Overloaded by all the “new music” options you keep hearing about? We’re here to help.  Here’s several songs we think you should fucking know (this week).  Feel free to leave your suggestions in the comments too!

1. Niki & The Dove – The Drummer: Though their album ‘Instinct’ was released back in May, and their singles have been on blogs for over a year now, Swedish band Niki & The Dove deserve more attention. I still can’t get enough of the track The Drummer. Haunting. Her vocals remind me of Kate Bush. Awesome!

2. The Rapture – Sail Away (Digitalism Remix). There are two tracks that are my favorite for DJing right now. This is one. I love the quiet, slow, waves crashing intro.

3. The Presets – Youth In Trouble (Green Velvet Re-Edit). This is the other one. Absolutely perfect remix of a great track. I love the acid-house sounds and the way he teased out the lyric, “Go,” and used it to dancefloor delight!

4. Arthur Beatrice – Not Without Thinking. Not to be confused with Bea Arthur.

5. New Navy – Breathe: This cover of Telepopmusik’s amazing track is really good. Adds one of my favorite sounds that I’ve been going crazy for lately — STEEL DRUMS! I love the percussion and the vocals on this version.

6. Hits – Madness: Synth pop goodness.

7. Ellie Goulding – Anything Can Happen: I’m really liking the debut single from Ellie’s forthcoming album ‘Halcyon’ out on October 9th. The single is supposed to drop on August 21.

8. Destiny’s Child – Say My Name (Don Winsley Remix) AND (Cyril Hahn Remix). Right now there are two amazing remixes of this Destiny’s Child song. One is party popping and one is love making. The Don Winsley mix (I think) is pretty new.

The Cyril Hahn mix has been out there for a little while, but deserves your time (besides, it has my other second obsession after steel drums –> slowed down vox).

9. Isaac Tichauer – Obsession. Great organ-infused house track with divaaaaaa vocals!

10. Blood Diamonds ft. Grimes – Phone Sex (Unicorn Kid Remix). This has been on my heavy rotation list for a couple months, but still can’t stop playing it. I adore the build. And her vocals are tremendous. YES!
