Nothing makes you feel like you’ve won the lottery and jumped tax brackets like drinks at the Ritz. The Quadrant bar is dark, lush, and more often than not, jam packed to the gills. A mixture of hotel guests and folks who work around the corner, people flock to its leather chairs and long bar lit with soft gold tones. Simply walking in the door feels like going on vacation (or slipping into another life), but Quadrant’s updated cocktail menu is taking that feeling even further with their new travel and culinary themed drinks.
The classic cocktail list is split into five sections that aim to take you on a boozy tour of England, France, Italy, New York and New Orleans. French 75s and Hanky Pankys and Aviations abound. If you’re looking for something solid, you won’t go wrong here, but if you’re willing to get weirder, skip to their original cocktails, which are inspired by a mixture of food and travel.
Our favorite drinks of the night are crowd pleasers. Whether this is your first time drinking something in a rocks glass or your 100th time, you’re bound to enjoy the Sound “Aged” Negroni and the Smoked Old Fashioned. The former uses sound wave technology to mimic the aging process to create a Negroni that’s smooth as silk. The latter is hands down the most popular drink Quadrant serves, and for good reason. The combination of bourbon and their house-made smoked syrup makes knocking these back dangerously easy.
Other standouts include the Clearly Nutty, made with rum and an assortment of fruit and topped off with hazelnut oil and Riesling syrup. The rum and fruit and nut flavors mimic all the best qualities of your favorite tiki drink, while the Riesling syrup gives it a slightly dry edge. If you like a little heat with your drinks, dive into the El Mercado. Featuring tequila, a smoked jalapeño syrup, passion fruit and orange juice, the smoke and spice is far from overwhelming. It’s a subtle heat that matches well with the sugary fruit.
The next time you want to get out of the city or change your identity for the night, swing by Quadrant, post up at the bar and let their bartenders book you a liquid vacation.
