We’re super glad to be winding down this VERY long week with a brand new single from Wave Collector (Neal Wright); “Ghost Moves” (which holds the record for longest track to compose and re-work in the Wave Collector repertoire) is “basically three songs in one,” says Wright.

The sonic narrative tells the story of a famous game of Gobetween rivals Hon’inbō Jōwa and Akaboshi Intetsu in 1835 Japan; as the story goes, during the game, ghosts bestowed three famous moves unto Jōwa which allowed him to defeat his opponent.

The resulting track is a masterful showcase of ethereal electronic samples, and it’s easy to see why Wave Collector has drawn comparisons to household names like Four Tet, Aphex Twin and Air. Highly recommended for a little early Friday escapism, check it out below:
