Join us for a lively and informative discussion on New York’s club music history from (1977-1999) Disco to House, from the perspective of working photographers. Guest photographers Bill Bernstein, Tina Paul and Alice Arnold will share their experiences photographing the burgeoning subcultures found in clubs such as Studio 54, Paradise Garage, Sound Factory and Shelter. Issues of Race, Community, Gentrification and Alternative Lifestyles will be woven into the Q&A session.
12pm-4pm Artist Talk / Moderated Discussion with Guests Artists Bill Bernstein, Tina Paul and Alice Arnold with curators Adrian Loving & Vikki Tobak. 880 P Street – Rooftop Lounge // 880 P Street NW Washington, DC 20001.
Immediately following the discussion will be a closing reception and book signing at SwatchRoom x Room 1527 9th Street NW and a last look at the exhibition Shoot To Thrill and a chance to mix and mingle with the artists. 4pm-8pm
