Often cited as one of the more important rock groups of the 1970’s and 1980’s, Wire makes it way to the Black Cat tomorrow.  Bands like Blur, Elastica, Bloc Party, Futureheads and Franz Ferdinand owe a great deal of debit to Wire as a crucial influence in their brit pop/post punk development.    Let’s check out a track of their newest effort, Red Barked Tree, which hit stores in the middle of January.

If you want to try and spot Ian Mackaye and Henry Rollins (both documented fans of Wire… in fact at Minor Threat’s second gig, each of the seven bands on the roster performed its version of a Wire song) at the show, we’ve got a pair of tickets for you!  All you’ve got to do is comment below with your favorite  Minor Threat song. Winner will be notified around lunchtime on Thursday (and interview is coming tomorrow morning!!!!!-ed).  Good luck!
