In our book, anything Jose Gonzalez touches may as well turn to gold. So, this Saturday at Black Cat, make sure to check out JUNIP, which Gonzalez aside, includes his fellow Swedes Tobias Winterkorn on keyboards, and Elias Araya on drums. Together, they weave a sound that will be familiar to fans of Gonzalez’s solo work, but is more rounded, that fills every space with a potent mix of reinvented classical guitar, mellowed out drum lines, and keyboards that shift from prog-space rock to hints of Ray Manzarak’s organ and electric piano. In other words-it’s a trip (WELL) worth taking.
We have a pair of tickets to give away to this show, so to enter to win, leave us a comment telling us what your favorite side music project of all time is. We’ll notify the winners by 9am Friday. Cool? Cool.
