Son of legendary Afrobeat Pioneer Fela Kuti, but a talented musician in his own right, Femi Kuti and the Positive Force will take over the 9:30 Club on Saturday, April 23rd. With his new album coming out just this week (4/12), surely Kuti will be on fire when he takes the stage in D.C.  For Africa for Africa, Femi Kuti brought the music to its source. In the Nigerian capital of Lagos sits the dilapidated Decca Studios, sonic laboratory for the famed Afrodisia Records. This is where Fela and Femi produced their earliest recordings together, and where the latter first returned for 1998′s Shoki Shoki. Despite its outdated equipment and malfunctioning AC, Decca still felt like home in 2010.
