If there’s any indication by the number of people on our editorial staff who are bummed for not being able to cover BATHS when they hit RNR HOTEL this FRIDAY (with Braids & Star Slinger), you know it’s going to be a show that’s talked about regardless of how good or bad it’ll be. However, let’s forget all Pitchfork/Gorilla Vs. Bear/Brooklyn Vegan/etc. buzz for a second and get real — Baths is Will Wiesenfeld; a one man free for all on your earlobes, playing chillwave love songs style akin to the tricks and tunes of Toro Y Moi or sometimes even Passion Pit. It’s the kind of music that make you want to stay out in the sun (despite the winter cold) for just a minute longer. You want to hear it all because it’s brilliantly optimistic and yet complex in its emotional palette.
