Alkaline Trio rules. I used to think they didn’t rule because they sang songs about girls and not about depression and drug use and I was an angry young man. Once I realized all the good bands that sang about depression and drug use and NOT about girls ended up dead, well, I reconsidered songs about girls. Songs about girls rule. Songs about boys rule. Songs about wanting a boy or a girl or whoever and not getting them so you drink a ton of booze rule. So Alkaline Trio rules.
Their new album, “My Shame Is True,” a nice nod to Elvis Costello, features the pop-punk that helped them gain legions of adolescents in the late 90s. And it’s on Epitaph. And Milla Jovovich is in the video for the first single, “I Wanna Be A Warhol.”
AK3 will be at the Fillmore Silver Spring on November 7. We want you to go for free. In the comments section, let us know your most embarrassing story over lusting after a boy or girl. A story set in all-ages punk rock clubs will probably win. The best story of tragedy wins 2 tickets!
