We have officially reached seasonal limbo. It’s definitely not summer, but it’s not quite fall yet. Sweaters and jackets are necessary before 11:00 a.m. and after 7:00 p.m., but there is a strange wormhole of eight hours that feels more like muggy death. What I’m trying to say is, there’s still plenty of time to enjoy the weather this year before everything is cold and miserable. Let’s get to it.

Bike Club Ride @ Glen’s Garden Market
Fall is the perfect weather for bike riding. Not too hot, not too chilly, and a highly enjoyable evening breeze to carry you through the trails. Meet up with your friends and neighbors at Glen’s for a moderate evening ride through Rock Creek Park and then head back to Glen’s for a beer and a slice of pizza for just $5.50. Don’t worry if you have any extra bags or gear, Glen’s is happy to hold it at the store while you ride. The group rolls out from Glen’s at 7:00 p.m., so be there!
Summit to Soul is switching up their weekly run a bit by ending with drinks at The Brig. Get ready to run the usual 3-4 mile circuit, but this time with snacks and booze at the finish line. Whether you speed through the track or take your time, you can be certain that a good time will be waiting for you after.
Wind down your work week right with a Pure Barre class on your lunch break. Bring your mat to work and head to 2121 Crystal Drive for a noontime total body workout. Getting your workout done in the middle of the day means more time for happy hour after work. A free chance to get fit is always a good idea, but especially when it means more time to drink later on.
Dear Summer- Live Art Showcase @ Cambria Hotel & Suites
If you like art, cool end of summer evenings, and hotel rooftops, this is the Friday night event for you. Whether you’re sad to see summer go or are very fall-ready, head to The Cambria Hotel for a night of art, drinks, friends, and summer breezes. Don’t worry though, we’ll be welcoming back summer before you know it!
The time has come once again to honor one of the best corridors in the city in the best way we know how. From food and drink to live music and art, H Street Festival is sure to be a blast. Grab some delicious grub from a food truck or street vendor and a beer and check out one of the best festivals of the year. You’re sure to leave full, tipsy, and absolutely happy this Saturday.
The Color Run @ National Harbor
If you’ve never participated in a color run, you’ve been missing out. Now is your chance to grab some friends and head to this overnight extravaganza of fun and body paint. Get dressed in your best whites, lace up your sneakers, and get ready for the least awful 5k (let’s face it, running is bad no matter how much neon paint is involved) in the history of 5k runs.
Go forth into nature!
