It’s all about bikes this week. The week ends with the second annual DC Bike Ride. Before that, bike to work, work on your bike and stretch. If you don’t stretch you might get a cramp. Cramps are like non-lubricated bike chains. Not sure when to lube your chain? We know where you can learn to lube!

#ForceOfNature content is produced in collaboration with our friends at REI

Global Bike to Work Day

Bike to Work Day is Friday, May 19. Global Bike to Work Day is Thursday, May 11. That’s interesting, right? Bike to work. Bike to work everyday.

FRIDAY (2)

Memorial Arboretum Native Plant Tour @ Arlington National Cemetery

This free walking tour is a good chance to wander around a space you most likely pass through via Metro. From the event description: This tour will highlight the plants that are native to the Mid-Atlantic region and the important role native plants have in the landscapes and gardens at ANC. From us: It’s acceptable to walk around a cemetary and learn when you have a guide.

SATURDAY (1)

A Shortcut to Europe

The best free, embassy based day of the year. Visit most every European embassy. Eat new foods, drink new drinks, see different things, go home with a tote bag you’ll use the rest of the year.

DC Bike Ride

The DC Bike Ride returns for a second year. The course is longer, there’s more entertainment and there’s post ride yoga. It’ll be better than last year’s because it’s not supposed to rain.
