We have been blessed with very temperate weather this August, which means that being outside is only somewhat miserable (there are still bugs). Take advantage of warmth before it’s freezing cold and snowing and your snot freezes before it even drips out of your nose.

The Tuesday slump is real. Break the cycle with an hour long Vinyasa flow class on the Magnolia Terrace. This class is open to all levels and will focus on breathing and stretching the body. The cost of this class is just $5 and is a great way to spend the afternoon after work and before dinner. Bring your own mat and towel.
In case one yoga session wasn’t enough for you this week, we are bringing you a morning of mindful yoga (suitable for all levels) on the rooftop of the notorious Watergate Hotel. This sunrise class is 60 minutes long and includes a healthy juice or protein drink to restore the body afterwards. Bring your own mat and towel, and make sure to set an alarm- this event begins at 7:00 a.m. Tickets are $35 if you register beforehand, and $40 for drop ins.
Take advantage of this cool August weather with an urban garden party at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel. Enjoy half-prices happy hour prices for the whole night, including $30 bottles of house-special rosé. There will be live music as well as a menu curated around the theme of rosé. This event is sure to be a fun and relaxing way to spend some time outside and kick off the weekend right.
Brunch is one of the most D.C. things to ever exist. Brunch is also great because it means a reason to drink and have fun with friends before 10:00 p.m. and is ideal for the early to bed, early to rise type of person. If you enjoy day drinking, rooftop parties, and dressing like it’s the 90s, head to this rooftop party where there will be lots of dancing and lots of mimosas. Is there a better way to spend your Saturday than getting active and drunk (actively drunk)? Probably not.
Round out your weekend with a late-morning Sunday jog around the monuments. Sometimes it’s easy to get stuck in routines and forget about the beauty and wonder of this great city. The best way to remember its beauty is clearly by turning yourself into a sweaty puddle of nothingness on a jog that you may or may not be in shape for. Anyway, D.C. is pretty and this is a cool event that is also completely free.
Go forth into nature!
