Don’t let the summer temperatures fool you, fall officially begins this week! Who says you can’t enjoy 80 degree late-September days while doing some fun fall outdoor activities. Take advantage of these nice days before you’re snowed in and forced to watch people going outside on TV because you can’t.

Though these hot days have resulted in plentiful back sweat and discomfort, the evenings have been surprisingly mild and enjoyable. Take advantage of the tolerable breeze with some evening rooftop yoga from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. As always, classes are completely free and open to all levels. Don’t forget to bring your mat and some water.
With D.C. favorites like Arepa Zone, Captain Cookie, Georgetown Bubble, and Pinch Dumplings, the GU Farmer’s Market is your one stop grocery and lunch destination. Swing by Georgetown’s campus between 11:00am and 5:00pm to pick up your fill of fresh groceries and baked goods, along with some lunch treats from your favorite food trucks. Rent a free picnic blanket and enjoy a beautiful afternoon at the market.
Join BYT and Heineken on the rooftop of the Embassy Hotel for a night of discounted beers and silent disco-ing. RSVP for free and say “so long” to summer with lots of booze and dancing in the heat. This event runs from 6:00pm to 9:00pm, so bring a change of clothes, cut work early, and get ready to party this Thursday with us.
Spend your Friday evening dancing your heart out to live music in Mount Pleasant. This concert features the Trifilio Tango Trio and others who will be playing new local D.C. tangos as well as classical tangos from Argentina. The event begins at 6:30pm, making it perfect for commuters and those with later Friday evening plans. Stop by and get ready to boogie!
Stop by the Mall on Saturday morning for a two-hour guided tour about aviation history on the national mall. This ranger-led walk will span about three-quarters of a mile and will cover stories of past presidents’ experiences, as well as airborne history on and off the mall. Meet at the chamber of the Lincoln Memorial at 10:00am on Saturday.
Yoga on the Mall returns for another year, and we are excited! Whether you’re part of one of the many great yoga shops in The District, or are a lone wolf yogi, Yoga on the Mall is free and fun for all. All levels are welcome, as there will be a main instructor-led class at 11:00am. Bring your mat and some water and meet at the Lincoln Memorial for a morning of yoga and community.
Go forth into nature!
