For the last official days of spring, we’re eating, drinking, and getting exercise at the same time. In the first few days of summer, we celebrate the exact same things. Cheers to kayaks, barbecue, and rosé as the keys to a phenomenal summer 2017.

June 20 is World Refugee Day, so lace up your running shoes, grab some friends, and pick a course ranging from two to four miles. Each participant will be given an LED candle, which will create a candlelight vigil at the Washington Monument Reflecting Pool in honor of the over 21.3 million refugees worldwide.
Kick your International Yoga Day off right with a free outdoor session with two top fitness instructors from the DMV area. Don’t forget to pick up some free lululemon swag while you’re there!
Wine is a liquid and therefore it’s hydrating, right? Come to lululemon in Georgetown for a 45-minute bootcamp- style workout class on the rooftop and then cool down on the patio with a chilled glass of rosé after. Best of all, this event won’t cost you more than your sweat (and hopefully not tears).
Take a trip out to Fairfax for an evening of libations and live music at the Old Town Square. Bring your bike and ride or walk around beautiful downtown Fairfax.
A drink in one hand, juicy baby back ribs in the other- that is the way you deserve to live your summer. Stroll down (eat your way through) Pennsylvania Ave. and enjoy live music from local artists. There is also a hotdog eating contest. Competitive eating is a sport. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.
Enjoy a relaxing late afternoon workout with an hour of kayaking followed by an hour of yoga. $55 will earn you a kayak rental and a spot in the class, which you can sign up for here. Don’t forget to wear comfy clothes, bring sunscreen, and pack a snack to share potluck-style with other participants.
Go forth into nature!
