Could it be true? Could there actually be some sunshine this week!? For the first time in what feels like forever, the sun will be out for more than a few passing moments. Why not celebrate the long-awaited sunshine with some quality outdoor time? We got you covered: yoga, Zumba, and more. Added bonus: Memorial Day is on Monday, so you get an extra excuse to get outside because you have no work! Yay!

Rooftop Yoga with Ambassador Allie Menchel

Leave it to lulu to always have your back when you need some fresh air and yoga in your life. This class is meant to change up the usual yoga flow routine, without confining you to the space of a yoga studio. It goes from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., its free, and it will be nice out. In the words of Janelle Monáe, “Let me see you do that yoga.”

Crystal City Outdoor Zumba

Nothing says hump-day quite like making a complete ass out of yourself by trying to do Zumba in public! Join the Crystal City BID and Sport & Health Fitness Club at the courtyard of 2121 Crystal Drive at noon, and “join the party.” You get to dance, flail, listen to Latin music, and go a little crazy.

Pilates by Vivian Thurman in Farragut Park

Work out and win prizes! The Golden Triangle BID really wants you to hang out there so they’re providing free classes every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with chances to win free stuff from local businesses. BYOMat.

DC Capital Striders Adams Morgan/Columbia Heights Run

It’s pretty much the weekend, but before you start to celebrate the extra day off, you should probably get your heart rate up. This small neighborhood group typically runs 4 to 5 miles around Rock Creek park and some surrounding neighborhoods. Meet up around 6:30 a.m., get some fresh air, and see some pretty D.C. neighborhoods all in one shot.

SATURDAY (1)DC Outdoor Public Pools Open

Head to Banneker and pretend to exercise! D.C. public pools are great and free (if you’re a resident) and technically somewhere where you can work out! But that’s not at Banneker. Banneker is for reading books and standing in water and watching kids to cool stuff off the diving board. If you’re looking to increase your heart rate, head to the East Potomac Pool. That’s a great pool.

Bike Ride with Recess Outings

Take a break from all the high-energy fitness stuff and take a little bike ride with some friends or family. Recess Outings bikes about 8 miles on Sunday evenings around the Anacostia River. Unwind from your busy weekend, put you helmet on, and pedal your way to relaxation.

Boot Camp with Balance Gym

Finish up your long weekend with a little free boot camp hosted by Balance Gym at Yards park. Perfect for a little exercise before your Memorial Day BBQ kicks off. Not into boot camp? Not a problem, there is also a 7 p.m. jazzercise class with Olivia Logan at Canal Park.
