If your allergies haven’t gotten the best of you yet, you’re all set to enjoy the amazing weather in the District. Plus with Earth Day coming up (April 22, to be exact), there’s no reason we shouldn’t be enjoying everything Mother Nature has to offer. We’ve rounded up a few ways you can get outside this week and soak up the sun (and pollen). Get outside!
Channel your inner yogi with some outdoor yoga at CityCenterDC. Toned Up Tuesdays are back with CorePower yoga offering free outdoor yoga classes every Tuesday starting at 6 p.m. Namaste.
Shake your tush outside during an outdoor Zumba class in Rosslyn. Head over to Freedom Park on North Lynn Street for a view of the Potomac and an exercise class in the great outdoors. Go ahead, dance like nobody’s watching.
If you’re tired of dancing by the Potomac, go for a run instead. Join Nike Run Club for the Potomac River Run and explore downtown D.C., Chinatown, the National Mall, and more. No need to start warming up right now either, runners can pick their own distance and pace. Just be sure to start and finish with your fellow runners at Potomac River Running.
Volunteer your time to make Rock Creek a better place. Join Rock Creek Conservancy on Friday and help clean up the lands, tributaries, banks, and waters of Rock Creek.
When you’re done volunteering, celebrate Earth Day with a toast to Mother Nature. Booze it up on Saturday at the DC Beer Festival. Enjoy Beer, food trucks, lawn games, and more. Just make sure you pick up after yourself, to show Mother Nature some love.
No need to be a pedaling expert to bust out your bike this weekend. Bikers of all skill-sets are welcome to join Bicycle Space for the weekly weekend five mile ride through Adams Morgan. Ride on.
Go forth into nature!
