It has seriously cooled off, which means outdoor time is less yoga in the park and more hot apple cider at fall festivals. I’m good with that.

Walk to Tacos
Today is National Taco Day. Honor that by eating some tacos outside, maybe from the DC Taco Truck in Farragut Square. Or you could just walk to get a taco from your favorite spot, if you’d rather eat indoors. Either way, find yourself with tacos.
Don’t let the cooler weather stop you from working out outside, go for a group fun run through Georgetown that starts and ends in the North Face Store tonight at 9:30 p.m.. You’ll get to work with trainers and grab some refreshments in the store after the run. What more incentive do you need?
Why not spend a couple hours on a pirate boat booze cruise in Baltimore? The ride will have Heavy Seas Beer and bluegrass music. Also you get to be out on the water. The water is the best, and soon it will be frozen over, so take advantage.
Bring your bike and helmet to REI’s Wunder Garden and embark on a leisurely ride around the city to see some of the best sites. As an added bonus they give your bike a little check up before the ride starts, so it’s kind of a two-for-one.
Head to Fairfax for one of the many festivals of the season. This one features three stages, a ton of food, vendors and an assortment of children’s activities. A great way to welcome October.
If you’ve always been curious about Mount Vernon but haven’t been motivated to go, use wine as your motivation. This weekend Mount Vernon offers wine tastings along with a sunset tour of the property. History and wine, what a natural pairing.
Go forth into nature!
