As we wait for a pending Federal court ruling on a lawsuit brought by EMI against Vimeo.com that may kill user-generated fan videos, we’re bringing you The Week in Gaga. Its our attempt to highlight the best user-generated Lady Gaga videos on the web.

Telephoning From Afghanistan (MalibuMelcher)

We really can’t understand why “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” is still in effect if you’re going to let straight boys into your Army only to have them post videos of themselves dancing to Lady Gaga.  You could question why men stationed on the front lines of Afghanistan would spend time recreating Lady Gaga.  We’re sure Toby Keith is crying in a corner somewhere, but we would argue that nothing pisses off the Taliban more than our boys in camo fatigues and fabulous choreography.  They’ve also proved a hit with Americans back home.  When we first glanced this video last week it had little over 3,000 views.  It now has over 3 million.

Britney Spears Singing Telephone (TopVideoPop)

This isn’t exactly user-generated, but it’s the hottest clip of ‘Telephone’ on the Internet this week.  The story goes that Lady Gaga (who used to work full-time as a pop songwriter) wrote ‘Telephone’ and shopped it around.  It peaked the interest of Spears’ management (spoiler alert: Britney Spears doesn’t write her own shit!!) who had the artist/head-shaver record a demo.  Spears ultimately passed on the song and Gaga went on to record it with Beyonce.

Political Partayyy (TheFamilyGuys)

With the British elections on Thursday, we were desperately searching for a great UK political parody of Lady Gaga.  Unfortunately, this is all that we got.  Apparently, the British version of JibJab falls a bit flat.  Still, it is eerie how much Gordon Brown looks like Susan Boyle when you slap a dress on him.
