The Smithsonian Arts & Industries Building became an art gallery / cafe / theater for last week’s The Long Conversation. Featuring activists, scientists, poets and drag queens, the event was nerdy and fun and niche in all the right ways. Described as an “epic creative marathon,” the talks were optimistic without sounding fake. It didn’t hurt that it was 100% free.
