CTRL debuted this past Saturday at its new home of Cobalt in Dupont Circle. Previously an underground queer dance party with a cult following, the party now helms Cobalt the last Saturday of every month. And based on the numbers of people, their move was a smashing success.
We had never seen lines outside of Cobalt as long as they were on Saturday night. To the venue’s credit, they got everyone in quickly and soon people were stripping down as they heated up the dance floor. Started last year as a monthly, Thursday night party on U Street, CTRL is the brainchild of Jeff Prior, Adam Koussari-Amin, Brett Andriesen, and Devon Trotter.
Special Thanks to David Claypool/Kalorama Photography for the photos here from CTRL’s rebirth on Saturday night.
