There’s family drama and drunken relatives and horrible political opinions and traffic and delayed flights and that’s before you even get to the stress that is cooking the actual meal. D.C.’s best restaurants can’t do anything about your weird sovereign citizen uncle, but they can help you out in the kitchen. Bidwell Restaurant – Union Market’s largest restaurant promises to make you a responsible and sustainably sourced Thanksgiving meal. Their 2019 to go menu includes a roasted heritage turkey ($130-$180), sourdough stuffing with stage from their rooftop garden ($8 a lb), maple ($8 a lb) and mashed potatoes ($8 a lb), caramelized Brussels sprouts ($10 a lb) and so much more. Brookland’s Finest – Your favorite Brookland neighborhood joint is making up some sweet sides to go. Call them up to order their fantastic pretzel bites ($40, I dream of them all the time),  their lardon bacon mac & cheese ($75), vegan spicy greens ($40) and more! Colada Shop – Make your Thanksgiving a little more Cuban with catering by Colada Shop. The “It’s a Cuban Holiday” package ($220) includes ropa vieja (or turkey and gravy if you don’t want to experiment), quinoa salad, stewed sweet plantains, congris and a corn souffle. Don’t want the whole thing? Feel free to order the sides and entrees a la carte! If you’re looking for sweets, Colada has rum cakes ($24), pumpkin dulce de leche pie ($28), Havana blend pecan and chocolate pie ($28) and a holiday cookie platter ($40). Fare Well & Sticky Fingers – Head to either of Doron Petersan’s vegan spots to pick up a full Thanksgiving spread, including seitan cutlets, herbed & roasted tofu, mashed potatoes, a caramelized onion gravy, wild rice stuffing and more. A full dinner for four will cost you $80 and is available for pick up 11/25-11/28.

Gravitas – Make your way over to Ivy City to pick up a Thanksgiving meal that is sure to impress your friends and family. Gravitas has a variety of options, including a classic Thanksgiving dinner package ($185), a baller Thanksgiving dinner package ($350), entrees ($32+), platters / boards ($22+), sides ($22+), breads ($14+) and so much more. We’re personally intrigued by the savory brioche stuffing, the smoked fish board, braised beef short ribs and the parkerhouse rolls. You can order your meal (or just a cheeseboard!) here and if you live close by, you can even get everything delivered for $45.

Kith/Kin – Let Chef Kwame Onwuachi take the wheel and make your life better with his jerk smoked turkey. The 11-13 lb. bird will cost you $125, but can you really put a price on eating a delicious meal and knowing you did none of the work? Orders must be placed before 11/22. Your turkey will be available for pick up between 11/26 and 11/27.

Mitsitam Café @ National Museum of the American Indian – Chef Freddie Bitsoie wants to set you up with a delicious Thanksgiving meal that includes traditional native american recipes. For $190, you can order a complete turkey meal that includes dressing, insanely good mashed potatoes (trust me on that), agave braised butternut squash, Three Sister Salad and so much more. Place your order by 11/25, come pick it up between 11/27 and 11/28 and enjoy. For every 25 meals sold, NMAI will donate a meal to Martha’s Table.

Red Apron Butcher – The meat kings and queens at Red Apron want to ensure that you have a properly epic Thanksgiving meal. To help you out, they’re offering up a la carte list of free-range Earth N Eats turkeys ($25 deposit up front, then $8 a lb upon pick up), a housemade brine pack if you’re doing your own turkey ($12), poultry stock ($8) / rub ($8), mashed potatoes ($8), gravy ($6), mushroom ragout ($14), smoked pimento cheese ($7), charcuterie ($40) and more! Sweet Home Cafe @ National Museum of African American History & Culture – The restaurant inside the National Museum of African American History & Culture wants to set you up with a delicious Thanksgiving meal, courtesy of chefs Jerome Grant and Ramin Coles. Grab a complete meal with four sides, cornbread and a pie for $190 or (if you like to party) spring for a complete ham meal for $205. Sides include cider braised collard greens ($29), candied yams ($29), mac & cheese ($32), green beans with smoked pork ($32) and more. For dessert, grab a pecan pie ($18), sweet potato pie ($18) or some banana pudding ($26). Orders are open until 11/25 and your meal (or sides or pie) will be available for pickup on 11/27 or 11/28. Iron Gate – Bring a romantic meal at Iron Gate into your home with Chef Tony Chittum’s Thanksgiving carryout menu. Choose from buttermilk biscuits ($12), a bunch of Iron gate dips ($5-$6), plus a variety of focaccias ($13-$16)! More of a sweet tooth? They’ll be offering up a pine nut and rosemary pie ($12), a sweet potato and marshmallow pie with a pecan crust ($30), apple crumble ($28) and holiday cookies. Kith/Kin – End your Thanksgiving with a serving of pastry chef Paola Velez’s excellent pies. Choose between a tamarind pecan pie, buttermilk pie, brown butter apple pie and dulce de leche pear pie. Or just go buck wild and order them all. Each pie costs $45 and orders must be placed before 11/22. Your pie (or pies) will be available for pick up between 11/26 and 11/27.

Pearl Dive Oyster Palace – End your Thanksgiving feast with a pie from Pearl Dive Oyster Bar’s pastry chef Cassie Holcomb. Pies run the gamut from traditional pies like spiced apple and maple pumpkin to less conventional options like lemon meringue and salted caramel dark chocolate! Any pie will run you $35 and orders are open until 11/26 and 12pm. Your pie will be available for pick up from 11/25-11/27. Want more baked goods? Pearl Dive is also accepting orders for Addies rolls ($10 for a dozen, $6 for a half dozen) and cornbread muffins ($9 for a dozen, $5 for a half dozen).

RARE Steakhouse & Tavern – Pastry Chef Jackie Suter wants to make your life a little easier with her holiday pies to go! Choose between blood orange pecan, dulce de pumpkin, chocolate silk or lemon chess. Each pie is $25 and they are available for pickup anytime between 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. from 11/25-11/28. Place your order 72 hours before your prefered pick up time.

Brabo Brasserie – Grab a glass of champagne and don your nicest beret, Brabo Brasserie is playing with a fun French theme for their Thanksgiving dinner. Swing by to enjoy a 24-hour brined turkey, a grilled NY steak, a baked basquaise monkfish, duck confit salad and so much more. Their Thanksgiving meal will be available from 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. on 11/28.

Nina May – Spend your Thanksgiving at one of Shaws newest restaurants. Chef Colin McCliman is slinging apple cider and rosemary brined turkeys, Virginia oyster and sausage stuffing and more. The Thanksgiving menu will be available on 11/28 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and runs $45 per person.

Oceanaire – If you want a side of seafood with your turkey, Oceanaire has your back. The seafood themed restaurant will have their entire menu available on Thanksgiving, plus the option to order a turkey with all of the classic sides for $40. Get a dozen oysters and then polish off some maple glazed sweet potatoes, french beans with crispy onions and a little bit of bird.

Opaline Bar & Brasserie – Settle in for a Thanksgiving with a French twist. Opaline’s menu is jam packed with options like sea scallops, honey nut squash bisque, turkey, trout almondine, pumpkin cranberry cheesecake and more. The three course meal is $75 per person and is available from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on 11/28.

The Pembroke – Make your way over to The Pembroke anytime on 11/28 between 11:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. for a Thanksgiving feast by Chef Harper McClure. The menu includes heritage turkey, pumpkin soup, steak frites and plenty of dessert. Sink into one of those giant booths and let the tryptophan take you away. Make your reservation here.

Pop’s Seabar – Keep things casual and laid back with Pop’s very affordable Thanksgiving meal! Swing by the bar for a $25 house ground turkey patty with stuffing, cranberry sauce, gravy, sweet potato, plus a side of fries and a can of Hellbender Redline Ale. Still hungry? Grab a glass of hot apple cider and a plate of beer battered fried apples served with caramel ice cream.

RARE Steakhouse & Tavern – Your boy Chef Marc Hennessy is cooking up a delectable Thanksgiving meal on top of their already solid regular menu! Spend your Thanksgiving in the dining room at RARE, feasting on clam chowder, pan roasted turkey from Bell & Evans, roasted mushrooms, mashed potatoes and more. Rye Street Tavern – Hop on the Marc train and spend your Thanksgiving luxuriating at one of Baltimore’s best restaurants. From 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., you can enjoy a turkey from Whispering Breeze Farm, confit turkey leg stuffing, crispy kabocha squash, a Sagamore Rye spiked gravy, roasted Brussels sprouts and more. Stay for dessert and enjoy your choice of dutch apple pie, pumpkin rolls or black bottom pecan pie. Dinner is $70 per adult and $35 for children 10 and under. Make your reservation here.

Via Sophia – Make a reservation at Via Sophia and then bask in the luxury of being able to fall asleep in a hotel room if you’ve eaten too much. Their Thanksgiving meal with an Italian flair includes an amuse bouche of foie gras, butternut squash veloute, a pasta course and the option to choose between a turkey feast with all the fixings or a grilled Norwegian salmon. If you have enough room in your bod after that, you can spring for the pecan pie or a slice of tiramisu. The $95 per person prix fixe meal will be available from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The Watergate Hotel – Mix it up and try out a luxurious Thanksgiving day brunch at The Watergate Hotel. From 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. they’ll be serving up bottomless mimosas to go with their full buffet and holiday music. Foodwise, you can expect all the Thanksgiving classics plus pasta, seafood and traditional breakfast food. Brunch will run you $105 per adult and $55 for children under 12.
