Cocktails can be fun. Jack Rose, an establishment known for their excellent whiskey selection, is having some fun in their new Tiki Bar.
Instead of mourning the end of summer, celebrate the beginning of Tiki Thursdays on the roof Adams Morgan bar. The intimate space features classic cocktails, small plates, an extremely knowledgeable bar staff and a pleasant view of a pleasant neighborhood.
The highlights of the specialty cocktail menu include the Bahia and the Zombie. The Bahia features white rum, cream of coconut, pineapple and tastes like something Don Draper would drink during the first two seasons of Mad Men when he was in Los Angeles and sleeping with everyone that wasn’t Betty. It’s delicious. The zombie packs a punch with three different types of rum, citrus juices, passion fruit, grenadine and bitters.
The drinks are normally $13, not bad at all when you consider just how much alcohol you’re consuming, and an extremely reasonable $6.50 during the 5 pm to 10 pm happy hour on Thursday. Go while you can. The bar will be open as long as the weather is nice.
The Jack Rose Tiki Bar is open Thursday through Sunday from 5 pm to last call on Thursday and 6pm to last call on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
