Another weekend, another bottomless brunch. Isn’t D.C. bloody fantastic? This time, I went over to Philos, a new mezze restaurant that took over the former Tel’Veh spot on Mass Ave.

What’s cool about this spot is that bottomless brunch doesn’t just include mimosas: you can choose from sparkling wine, red wine, white wine, Bloody Marys, and rail drinks. (You may want to avoid making plans for the rest of the day if you brunch here).

To soak up all that booze go to town on the endless Mediterranean small plates: sample spreads like hummus and tzatziki; inhale lovely, fresh salads like the beet and frisee salad, the olive and cherry tomato salad, and the arugula and blue cheese salad; order great entrees such as the grilled cheese and tomato soup (its cheesy to the nines!!!), meaty mushroom crepes, scrambled eggs and eggs benedict; and of course taste all of the decadent desserts, especially Nutella crepes and French toast.

This place is loud and cheerful, great for big groups where the goal is to eat, drink and then eat and drink some more.
