Nage Bistro recently acquired a new chef, Dwayne Motley, who has put together a new seasonal, modern American menu for the bistro that you should definitely stop by and sample when you’re near downtown.

The menu is comprised of an array of seasonal salads, so right now there is a gorgeous kale, pine nut, and dried current salad, an apple salad with radishes and goat cheese, a cauliflower salad, and a spaghetti squash salad made with earthy chanterelle mushrooms, walnuts, and fragrant fried sage. Small bites are as conducive for sharing as the salads are: enjoy crispy fried Vidalia onions or wild mushroom baklava, a savory twist on the Mediterranean dessert.
Main courses range from mac n cheese to a black bean burger topped with cheddar and avocado to a falafel wrap complete with tahini, oregano, and feta cheese. Whatever you get, be sure to order some fries: there are regular fries, zucchini fries, sweet potato fries, and even truffle fries.
Desserts are classic American, and worth a try if you have room for them! There is a s’mores sundae made with smoked vanilla ice cream, a cookies and milk plate, pecan pie, and sticky toffee pudding. If you can’t come by for lunch, consider brunch: many of these same items are on the brunch menu, and you can throw in bottomless mimosas and bloody marys for $15.
