To make Restaurant Week just a little bit more interesting this year Kapnos decided to offer two Restaurant Week menus. The first was $35.00 for four courses, and the second was $55.00 for five courses. Twenty extra dollars for one course? Ludicrous you say. Well, the five course menu did have some advantages; namely more choices, better choices, and more food. And what’s better than more food? Alas, my friends and I opted for the five course menu, and thus began an endless presentation of Mediterranean small plates.
The pictures speak for themselves, but it’s clear that Mike Isabella does best when he sticks to Greek food. Spreads, like garlic and dill tzatziki, hummus, smoky eggplant, and yellow lentils, are all silky and creamy creations, perfectly suited for the doughy flatbread served on the side. Crispy falafel, spinach and feta spanakopita, grilled sweet and savory cauliflower, and chickpea battered potatoes are other winning items.
The best of the dessert options includes crispy donuts soaked in spiced honey, nutty baklava, and dense chocolate mousse; be sure to make your dining companions get different ones so you can sample as many as possible.
It may be all Greek to you, but you don’t need to understand it, you just need to eat it. Eat it all.
Kapnos is continuing its Restaurant Week until August 24th, so make your reservation today.
