At what point do you stop ordering mimosas when they’re only 1¢ each?
Tricky Virginia liquor laws forbid “bottomless brunches,” meaning Virginia Is For Lovers of wholesome, unadulterated, sober “fun.” Fortunately, Cava Mezze found a way around that. And, in solidarity with it’s Virginia location, the Eastern Market spot also features the penny refreshments. Along with your $30 unlimited-plates brunch, be sure to bring your change jar.
On the bottomless-ish menu, every dish is worth exploring. Not a fan of salmon? Someone at the table will be. Not a fan of Eggs Benedict with the yolk running into your Canadian bacon and tomato? Well, you’re insane, and there’s no helping you now.
Score a spot on the patio downstairs, and you’ll enjoy everything Mediterranean under the shade. Be sure to grab their French toast with a thick slab of challah and honey, the breakfast burrito topped with Greek yogurt, and especially the pasta & eggs with papardelle noodles and kefalograviera. Did we mention the pork belly and eggs? With pancetta and hollandaise? Well, the next time you head down to pick up some vintage Hawaiian shirts and need a head start on your herb garden, make room for brunch at Cava first.
Cava Mezze has two locations for brunch in the DMV at Clarendon, VA (opens at 11 am) and 527 8th St. SE in D.C. (opens at 11:30 am)
