Weekly rundown of D.C. fashion events+links to love on style blogs+other inspirational stuff we think you may enjoy. Cool? Cool. And as always, let us know if we missed something in the comments.
June 11th: Stop by the W Hotel for an L.A. Style Pop-up Shop to shop the latest from M Dot Design Studio, Costella Handbags, MAU Jewelry, Amy Agamemnon Jewelry, Sophie Blake Jewelry, JulySol, Leoluca Handbags, Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics, and Smack. The event will be hosted by DC fashion bloggers Haya of Good Good Gorgeous, Tammy of A Loyal Love, and Krystin of Be Loud Be You.
June 11th: Local swimwear designer D’Milikah is having their second annual runway fashion show at Nick’s Riverside Grill.
June 14th: Shop the Summer Chic Fashion and Beauty event at the Durant Arts Center in Alexandria this Saturday.
June 14th: Or raise money for Capitol Movement by attending the Glam at the Graham fashion show and “white party” (gonna go ahead and assume that means you’re supposed to wear white). Free drinks while supplies last!
June 15th: Trade your lightly worn sundresses for someone else’s at a Sundress Swap Sunday at The Pinch. Bring 3 dresses to swap, and keep your eyes out for cool vintage pieces. They’re also swapping sun hats, but I’d be passing up on those moccasins, if you catch my drift.
June 17th: If you missed the screening of The Politics of Fashion last week, you’re in luck. Next Tuesday there will be another screening along with a Q&A session with cast members.
INSPIRATIONAL LINKS, ETC
Refinery29: #OITNB fashion collection is a thing now on Gilt, and no it’s not just orange jumpsuits (it’s inspired by the mock job fair).
WhoWhatWear: I predict that the Oxford English Dictionary will add “Flatforms” in 2015. Until then, get yourself a pair for summer.
Style.com: Style.com has put together a list of the best white tees for summer. That they list tees with a $300 price tag is redeemed by the fact that they also list a $12 Hanes pack of five. My tip for looking like $300 without spending $300: grab the five-pack and go for gaunt with your makeup (I’m sure there’s a tutorial for that on YouTube somewhere).
Fashionista: Celeb fashion at the Tony Awards
