Fashion Law Week starts this coming Monday (the 24th). The annual symposium focuses on the legal aspects of the fashion industry; things like patents, intellectual property, copyright, business transactions and so on. This year the theme of Fashion Law Week is “Fashion Tech: The Law of Fashion in a Digital Marketplace.” Monday’s topic is Wearable Technology and 3D Printing (we’ll all be wearing holograms, soon. It’s the way of the future). The panel starts at 7pm at Howard University’s School of Law. Full list of events here.
February 19th- 22nd: DC Fashion Week events are selling out, but you can still add your name to the waitlist for the Corjor International Fashion Show on Wednesday or the Metropolitan Emerging Artists & Indie Designer Showcase on Saturday. If you don’t get into either you can always go to the Networking Party, which is free and open to the public.
February 22nd: Get one-of-a-kind boutique items at the Fashion for a Fraction designer boutique sale this Saturday. You have the option of paying $15, $10, or $5 depending on how important it is to you to have first dibs on the good stuff/how hard you partied the night before. $5 gets you in from 2-4pm.
