“My fashion style is inspired by old and new sources — I’ve drawn from old photos of Patti Smith in her heyday to current fashion blogs. I model much of my style based on my environment: while living in DC, I combine conservative menswear lines with some edgier touches (carried over from my LA years).”
Shorts, hat and necklace from J. Crew, Banana Republic shirt, Tod’sshoes, Annette Ferdinandsen earrings, Kendall Conrad purse, viking helmet ring by Aurelie Bidermann, belt from Brooks “Shane” Salzwedel and Ray-Ban Glasses.
“I don’t follow fashion, I follow my soul. Every day I want my body to feel comfortable and my mind confident, that the way I like to live my life, not just exist. I enjoy wearing things that I like and it’s a pleasure to get compliments, it means people like what I create.”
“During the work week, it’s comfortable and conservative, but I like to mix in accent accessories and pops of color.”
“I love pieces that are mid-20th century classic that I can easily transition from work to nightlife. Comfort, affordability, and timelessness.”
“I am inspired by my local culture of Benin and am engaged through my company Exportunity in promoting African Brands and economic potential.”
Each Item is from West Africa, specially Cote d’Ivoire for the Fabric and Benin for the Tailor.
