Summer is just around the corner, so we went ahead and asked some of our favorite musicians to give us lists of their favorite songs for summertime! Our first installment of 2017 comes from FOXTRAX (Ben Schneid, Jon Stenz, Jared Stenz); they shout out everyone from Tom Petty to Harry Styles to The Kinks, so get ready to fill your ears with tons o’ tunes that are PERFECT for easing into the impending heat. (Picks up top, playlist down below.) Also be sure to catch the guys tomorrow night at the Studio at Webster Hall if you’re in NYC (or elsewhere if you’re not, slash they’ll be playing w/ Barns Courtney for the second leg of tour), and give their cover of Harry Styles’ “Sign of the Times” a listen. HERE WE GO:

“Penthouse Floor” – John Legend
“This track is the grooviest track around right now. Super Vibey and amazing! Love Chance’s verse on this one!”

“Hot Thoughts” – Spoon
“This song is really eerie and edgy and amazing. It sounds kind of British and dark, but the dancy-ness of this track makes it really unique!”

“Human” – Rag n Bone Man
“I absolutely love this guys voice. This is one of those tracks you hear on the radio and just instantly dig it! Big ups!”

“Sign of the Times” – Harry Styles
“I was knocked out by how 70’s this track sounded. I’m a sucker for this old school sounding stuff so I immediately dig it!”

“Into the Great Wide Open” – Tom Petty
“This is a great summer road trip song with the windows down. It makes me long for freedom and the open road!”

“Life Itself” – Glass Animals
“A real feel good song that has an infectious beat, perfect for that summer BBQ!”

“Ride” – Twenty One Pilots
“This bouncy song takes away all of my worries and makes me feel like there is no rush, just time to hang and chill by the beach!”

“Sloop John B” – Beach Boys
“One of the chilliest songs of all time! I love kicking back and listening to The Beach Boys with a cold drink in my hand!”

“Sleep on The Floor” – The Lumineers
“The perfect song to kick off any summer road trip!”

“Ends of The Earth” – Lord Huron
“For that special someone who you’d follow anywhere”

“Jolene” – Ray LaMontagne
“THE definitive song about thrift stores in Spokane”

“Waterloo Sunset” – The Kinks
“Vintage chill vibes perfect for a summer afternoon”
