The news of Lou Reed’s death at 71 shocked the world yesterday, musicians most obviously included. As Brian Eno once famously said, after all, “The first Velvet Underground album only sold 10,000 copies but everyone who bought it formed a band.”

Bands from Pearl Jam to Phish have covered the famous front man’s work in the last 24 hours, but Beck’s just-uploaded cover of “Sunday Morning” really caught our ear. Beck’s heartfelt tone lends a gratitude without sadness that suits the mood perfectly. Give it a listen:
