Mayor Bowser in collaboration with Events DC just announced the opening events at the much-anticipated Entertainment & Sports Arena! On Saturday October 6 Grammy Award-winning/double Oscar-nominee performer Mary J. Blige is gonna blow your mind at this shiny new 4,200 seat arena in the heart of Congress Heights.
If you miss this show (don’t) you can catch Cage the Elephant with Judah & The Lion (lions and elephants and shows…oh my!) the following Saturday October 13. So many animals!
But now more on the venue which could be your new favorite place to go for entertainment, sporting events, esports AND MORE. The Arena will also serve as the practice facility for the NBA Washington Wizards and home court of the WNBA Washington Mystics and new NBA G-League team, the Capital City Go-Go. If you want a sneak peak you can head to the ribbon-cutting ceremony Saturday September 22.Â
