This past weekend, Red Bull Flugtag (aka “Flight Day” for those of you not with an online translator on hand) arrived to National Harbor, for the first time ever, spearheading a day of across-the-country pageantry and flight (attempts). DC area saw 10,000 attendees at the sold-out event, cheering on 30 teams from the whole of North-East as they dived off of a 30ft platform and into the Potomac.
Despite a strong representation of DC itself, the winners turned out to be the rural Pennsylvanian farming team, Harvest Bureau, though no one could touch the history that was made in Long Beach where the new Red Bull Flugtag world record was set with a flight of 258 feet. Most teams competing at National Harbor barely cleared 50 ft. but they DID it in style:
Congrats to everyone!
