We like the Smithsonian National Zoo. We profile it more than any other Smithsonian Institution. We visit it more than any museum on the Mall. We eat and drink in the zoo more than most restaurants. So when we’re recapping these events, we’re actually looking to categorize it for future previews.

Zoo Uncorked

Most every food and drink event at the zoo includes, you guessed it, food and drink. Small plates and half pours.

Brew at the Zoo is the best zoo event for beer lovers. The brewery list is expansive and you get to drink beer.

ZooFari is the best zoo event for foodies. You can not eat at every participating restaurants. There are too many options.

Boo at the Zoo is the best zoo event for people that like wearing costumes.

Zoo Uncorked is the best zoo event for couples looking for a pre-weekend date. The average age is older than the other three aforementioned events. Most everyone is coupled. The caricature artists are free and who doesn’t like a good caricature? The Thursday event in early September had perfect weather, enough wine for hours and chances to donate $10 for a grab bag full of goodies. We got a plush panda. You know who loves plush pandas? Your date.
