On Wednesday, one of BYT’s favorite after-hours cocktail events, Corcoran Uncorked: Best and Brightest, presented its Spring exhibitions.
The evening featured DJ Chris Burns and live sets from up-and-coming local bands Furniteur and Pleasure Curses. Participants indulged in quality cocktails all evening long, courtesy of Todd Gray’s Muse Cafe. Attendants enjoyed exquisite artwork (like Jennifer Steinkamp and Jimmy Johnson: Loop, Sol Lewitt’s Wall Drawing #65, and Rineke Dijkstra: The Krazyhouse) and were even able to make their very own wire and yarn sculptures, a DIY project presented by the event. The event showcased Corcoran performance artists Sarah Gettman, Nicholas Turpie, and Lorenzo Cardim. Amongst the graduating talent featured in the exhibitions were BYT’s own Emily Cohen, Ryan Mahoney and Dakota Fine.
Corcoran Uncorked is held the third Wednesday of every month. Admission to the event is $12. Don’t miss next month’s Corcoran Uncorked themed “Express Yourself” for a night of art, music, and dance!
