Are you a casual beer fan? Are you a super weirdo beer fan? Do you know nothing about beer but you still want to support local businesses? Brewers on the Block is the event for you. At least, it would be, if it wasn’t hot as the surface of the sun in this city.

This year, Brewer’s on the Block took over the Suburbia space right outside of Union Market, and besides the weather, it had all the makings of a perfect beer event. There were a variety of local options. It was full, but never so crowded you had to stand in line. Plus, you could always pop right into the Market to grab a sandwich or an ice cream if you needed a little beer break. There were cute dogs and really quality beers, it was just so damn hot.

We enjoyed all the offerings we tried from 3 Stars, Oliver and Right Proper, but honestly, there wasn’t a bad brewery in the bunch. If you’re planning for next year, we would definitely recommend this event again, just keep an eye on the weather and get there early so you can claim your spot in the shade.
