WPA‘s upcoming benefit auction, HIGH FREQUENCY, is set to take place from July 30–August 13 in partnership with Artsy. Featuring a pretty incredible selection of artists and artwork (incl. many recognizable names from the DC arts scene and beyond), the auction offers an opportunity for people to support WPA’s work, and to put money directly into artists’ pockets at a time when they need it most; the proceeds will be split 50/50 between WPA and the artists.
Set an alarm for this Thursday, July 30th at 6pm ET, which is when the virtual kickoff party begins!
Browse the catalog here, and register to bid on Artsy.
Also be sure to check out WPA’s most recent project, conceived by DC-based interdisciplinary artist Tsedaye Makonnen; Black Women as/and the Living Archive looks at how Black women encode, preserve and share memory through community, and features a number of artists including Alisha B. Wormsley and Ola Ronke creator of The Free Black Women’s Library. The full project archive is available here.
