During the day the Smithsonian’s National Zoo is a magical place of wild animals, learning, and a giant hill that I have tackled on numerous occasions. Somehow. At night the zoo can get pretty spooky, spoopy if you will. And nothing is creepier than Halloween. So what happens when you combine the two? You get Night of the Living Zoo! This could be you on October 26!
Wow, you look great. This year we’re even more excited and terrified. With even more live entertainment and performers, weirdos and oddities (that’s me by the way) and after-hours access to the animal houses (NOCTURNAL ANIMALS THIS IS YOUR TIME TO SHINE) it’s shaping up to be the creepiest/best one yet.
And if you’re a VIP (Very Important Panther…jk jk it’s Person) then you’ll have access to even MORE cool stuff! What stuff? Excellent question. You get express check-in so you can hang out with those animals sooner, one additional drink ticket so you can soothe your frightened nerves, an exclusive takeaway gift (sorry, it’s not a panda), PRIVATE access to the VIP bar/lounge, a private dance floor because you’re a private dancer, complimentary food tastings from local restaurants and EXCLUSIVE VIP-only animal experiences and viewings.
The VIP restaurant choices are some of the yummiest in the city. From Bier Baron to Blackfinn, Dolce to El Centro to Radiator, the only thing you’ll be afraid of is not having enough room to try it all! But don’t despair non VIP folks, there will be food trucks on site for all the face stuffing.
VIP tickets are $65 for members, $90 for non-members. General tickets are $30 for members, $40 for non-members. Honestly why aren’t we all members? Let’s join now! Also, don’t forget to dress up! Costumes are GREATLY ENCOURAGED. It’s your favorite time of year…fake blood time. See you there!
