Capital Pride officially kicks off its 2015 season with a sneak peek party this Thursday at Malmaison. The 3rd Annual Pride Reveal presented by Malmaison on Thursday will announce its 2015 theme and marquee events leading up to Capital Pride Week in June.

What began as a modest march and block party in Dupont Circle exactly 40 years ago has now grown into one of the largest LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) events in the country. In 2015 Capital Pride will celebrate 40 years of successful pride events in Washington, with more than 300,000 attendees expected for the events the first week of June.

Under the leadership of Executive Director Ryan Bos, and with a reinvigorated team that includes a small staff, volunteers and board, Capital Pride has grown from a just a yearly celebration into a cultural force offering year-round activities. It has become one of the largest celebrations in Washington and one of the largest cultural events in the entire Mid Atlantic.

About the Reveal Party:

The Capital Pride Reveal party has grown into one of the most anticipated social events of the Winter. Washington celebrities, leading LGBT party promoters and activists, and several hundred people regularly attend. Two of Washington’s most loved DJs –  Ed Bailey (Town) and Aaron Riggins (WTF?! party) – will be spinning. Tickets include two free drink tickets,  hors-d’oeuvres, giveaways, and entertainment. Malmaison is a modern event space, cafe & patisserie is located under the Key Bridge at Washington D.C’s historic Georgetown waterfront in a majestically refurbished industrial warehouse and features the culinary talent of legendary French Chef Gerard Pangaud (2-star Michelin). Brightest Young Things photographers will be there to capture you in party shots, and Maryland Mojo Photo will supply party goers with a photo booth to capture pictures with your friends.

Brightest Young Things has partnered with Capital Pride the last three years for the official pride week opening party – one of the biggest LGBT dance parties in the country. Past opening parties have included Big Freedia, Amanda Lepour, Sharon Needles, Willam, AVAN LAVA, Rye Rye, and lots of additional talent. But, since Capital Pride has grown into a year-round calendar of events, there’s no need to limit the party to just one night. So, join BYT this Thursday at Malmaison as we celebrate Capital Pride as it reveals what it has in store for 2015.
