This past Sunday, DC art and music fans made their way over to Old Town Alexandria (gasp!) for the opening reception of “Paper Cuts-The Art and Science of Rock Posters”, curated by Anthony Dihle and featuring live screenprinting by Kristina Bilonick.

Much like Dihle’s previous show Paper Jam, this show further explored the cult of the rock show poster in its many incarnations (artists featured included Jay Ryan, Dan Grzeca, Guy Burwell, Hatch Show Print, Dihle Himself and BYT’s own John Foster), as well as showing some of the process that goes into making a poster: some original drawings, photocopies, film transparencies, and the aforementioned screenprinting process tutorials.

Exhibit is open through April 25th.
