Seriously, gays, we have a problem. It’s called Halloween. Halloween is menacing for two reasons. First, it artificially extends “No Carb Beach Season” an extra two months. Second, we’ve now made it a week-long holiday – holiday parties every.single.night. We’re plain exhausted.
Yet, one thing we’re not tired of is the annual Mixtape Halloween Party at the Howard Theatre. It was enough to coax us out of our grumpy mood and into our slutty costumes (we opted for a slutty Ruth Bader Ginsberg). It was worth it. The party always is. Howard was packed with homosexuals dancing to Mixtape DJs Matt Bailer and Shea Van Horn (who opted to come as a sugary calavera version of his alter ego Summer Camp).
If you weren’t treated to enough tricks (seriously, everyone seems to get laid by coming to Mixtape), then you have a second chance this Saturday as Mixtape returns to the Black Cat for its regular monthly party. As a sweet incentive, the boys are offering anyone who gets there before 11:00pm half off tickets.
